The building for the George Hotel is from the mid 19th Century and is a Grade 2 classification to preserve its historic legacy. Recent refurbishment has ensured modern comfort and facilities - but the Grade 2 classification still forbids a lift. No problem - obliging, friendly staff will carry your luggage to your room - afterall, that's how it was when fine distinguished Regency folk stayed there! Of course, disabled visitors have suitable access available.
